Love Spell:

Needed for this spell is a red candle and a crystal.

I call on forces higher then I,
To awaken the dreams that I hold in inside
Through this connection that knows my need
I ask for love's enchantment with all speed.
May this work for me in the most correct way attracting
the love I need today....
I call on thee in perfect love & trust working
with me sending what’s just...
Harming none and helping all is how it
Shall be
This I make true 3x3x3.

This spell is bested begun when the moon is waxing,
but if you cannot wait that long go ahead and do it.
Take a photo of your lover and a photo of yourself.
Using a paper clip, hook the photos together so that the faces
are on top of each other.
The idea is that the person cannot see past your face.

Take the photos and place them at the bottom
of your underwear drawer.
The person should soon write, call, or reappear.

LOVE SPELL:

You will need:
A sampler size of your favorite scent
A pink candle
First carve a heart in your candle with a tack or toothpick. Light the candle
in a window where it will receive moonlight (full moon light is best).
Put the scent container in front of the candle and say:
Venus, grant me the love that I lack;
Through this scent, my mate attract!
Let the candle burn out naturally, then carry the scent with you, spraying on
a little whenever you are out or may be meeting people. Increase the power of
the magic by repeating the invocation as you put on the scent!

Money Spell:

(Said while making 9 knots in green, 13-inch silk cord or ribbon)

By knot of one, my spell's begun
By knot of two, plenty fruitful work to do
By knot of three, money comes to me
By knot of four, opportunity knocks at my door
By knot of five, my business thrives
By knot of six, this spell is fixed
By knot of seven, success is given
By knot of eight, increase is great
By knot of nine, these things are mine

Supplies:
1 green candle
6 coins
a green pouch or cloth
cinnamon

Create a circle with the coins around the candle.
Light the candle and chant 3 times:
Money flow,
money grow,
money shine,
money mine!

Sprinkle the bag or cloth with cinnamon and collect the
coins and place them inside. While doing this chant:
Bring me money 3 x 3.
Keep the pouch or cloth with you for awhile.

Well Being Spell:

When you have been sick, but are beginning to feel better, this is a good spell
to cast. It is energizing and will leave you feeling healthier than when you
began. For periodic maintenance, you may want to use the spell twice a year.

Things you will need:
1 white or pink image candle
powdered rose petals
push-pin thumbtack
Star Oil (see below)
Carve your name, or that of the person for whom you are casting the spell,
onto the candle. Anoint the candle with the oil and sprinkle with powdered rose petals.
Raise energy and focus on general well being as you charge the candle. Burn under the waxing moon, chanting:
Earth, Air, Fire, Water
Peace, Health, Joy, Laughter.
Peak the energy and let it fly out to the universe. Let the candle burn completely.
(If you use runes you may also carve Sigel, Flame, and Caduceus in the wax before anointing the candle with oil.)

How to make Star Oil:

1/4 ounce almond oil
10 drops lemon oil
7 drops jasmine oil
7 drops rosemary oil
17 drops chamomile oil
5 drops sandalwood oil

Wishing Spells:

Take any large bowl. Drip a few drops of different colored candle wax in the bottom of the bowl, then adhere a white candle to that spot. The different colors represent diverse needs and goals, while the white binds this variety together in harmony. Each morning, light the candle when you get up and put a coin in the bowl. Make your wish for the day. Blow out the candle before you leave the house.

Whenever you desperately need to have a wish fulfilled, remove a coin from the bowl and either plant it in rich soil or throw it into moving water so that your message of need will be carried through the earth. When the bowl is filled with coins, use all but a few (these "seeds" always remain in your bowl) for random acts of kindness, like getting treats for the neighborhood kids or helping a homeless person. Your generosity will return to you threefold to keep the magic of benevolence, both mundane and divine, with you always.

Banishing Spell:

This candle I see before me, its color so bright,
holds my needs of change in its light...
I call in the forces higher than I to release the energy that is held inside..
May it work for me in the most correct way,
harming none and helping all as it leaves my stay..
I call on thee in perfect trust and love sending me guidance from above..
This I make happen and so be it will. Take away this thing that brings me ill.
So mote it be.3x3x3

Binding Spell

You will need:
One glass jar with lid
Photograph or personal item of person you want to bind
One white ribbon
Sea salt
Canning wax

Wrap the photo or item with nine knots of white ribbon, as you do, invision the person leaving in peace. Each time you make a knot, chant "I bind you (person's name) so you can harm none, not even yourself".

Place the photo or item in the glass jar. Say "I bind you with all the power of the great Mother" and cover the item with sea salt.

Melt the wax and pour into the jar and say "I bind you from this day and forever". Seal up the container and bury it in the north end of your yard. Tell no one what you have done.

Protection Spell:

"By the dragons light,
on this (month) night,
I call to thee to give me your might,
by the power of three,
I conjure thee,
to protect all that,
surrounds me,
so mote it be,
so mote it be!

TO PROTECT AN OBJECT:

With the first and middle fingers, trace a pentagram over the object to be protected. Visualize electric-blue or purple flame streaming from your fingers to form the pentagram. Say this as you trace:

"With this pentagram I lay
Protection here both night and day.
And the one who should not touch
let his fingers burn and twitch.
I now invoke the law of three:
This is my will, so mote it be!"

PROTECTING ITEMS FROM OTHERS:

Have a bowl of water, a bowl of salt, and one of those cheap misters you can get in
the drugstore. Put candles in the four corners and light them.

Cast a circle and Call the Corners. Then Hold your hands over the bowls of water
and salt, and allow your magic to flow through your arms onto the objects,
surrounding them with protective light.
Say:

Protect from prying eyes
What only I can see
Protect from prying eyes
These magic things of me
Make a veil of mystic worth
Protect this magic (whatever your object is)'s hearth
Let our lines be blurred
Blended smudged and slurred
Only my eyes can see
The secrets which entrusted be

Then hold your hands over the water, and say:

I consecrate this water for protection
In the name of the Lady and the Lord
so mote it be!

Then hold your hands over the salt, and say:

I consecrate this water for protection
In the name of the Lady and the Lord
so mote it be!

Then put the water and salt into the mister and lightly mist your object(s) your personal belongings are protected!

Beauty Spells:

EYE COLOUR CHANGE SPELL:

In a dark place, or at night, set two parallel rows of candles, width the space of your outstretched arm, for about 20 to 30 feet, about a foot between candles. they must be white candles, fresh and never used before. after the approximately 20 feet, make a circle of candles, with circumference the same as the width of your arms outstretched. the circle must be southern most.
Light all the candles except a few between the "path" between rows. hold with you a white candle, lit, same as the others. you must also be wearing all white clothes. light the candles, and after doing so, kneel before the path, to the south, and ask for a blessing from the gods for your spell.
Walk with the lit candle slowly until you get to the circle, stepping over the unlit ones, turn, now facing the north, and light the candles that were unlit. (ideally 3 there) blow out the candle in your hands, and look at the smoke it makes, feeling your old eye color float away with it. you can sit or stand at this point, in whatever direction feels comfortable.
Close your eyes, and feel with your spirit all the candles of the circle, and the path. focus the light in your eyes, and shift it to the color you want your eyes. when you feel the color staying, and a feeling of completeness, open your eyes. blow out the 3 candles to your north, and exit the circle.
Use the candle that you walked with to relight the 3 candles, and blow it out once more. walk down the path feeling the power around you, until you get out of the path. kneel once more to the south, and thank the gods for their attendance, and one by one, in the order you lit them, extinguish the candles.

HAIR COLOUR SPELL:

Ingredients:

3 orange candles (change and attraction)
or red candles (energy and attraction)
Hand mirror or free-standing mirror

On a Friday during the Waxing Moon, Gather the ingredients above and go to a place where you can be undisturbed for at least 15 minutes.
Light the three candles and place them in a triangle shape upon your altar. Allow yourself to become calm and centered. When you feel ready, place your hands over your hair and close your eyes. Visualize the color of your hair fading and fading, becoming white as the color drains from it. Hold the color within your hands. Slowly lower your hands above the candles and focus it into their flames. Allow the color to transform within the flames, becoming your desired hair color. Hold your hands over the flames and soak up the energy. Place your hands over your head again and allow the color to return to your hair, turning it the color you desire. Say the following charm:

Fire warm and Fire red,
Charm the hair upon my head.
Fire dance and Fire shine,
From _____ to _____, this wish is mine.
As I will, it now shall be,
By Fire, Water, Wind, and Tree.

With this, open your eyes and look at your reflection. If your hair has changed, it will last only a couple of minutes, or more, depending on how much energy you put into the spell. If the spell was not successful the first time, try it again another night. It takes much practice and ability to focus energy for this spell to be truly successful.

BEAUTY SPELL:

Rose quartz
6 rose petals
Bottle of witch hazel

Look at your face and all it flaws. Visualize your face changing into the face you want. Rub the stone lightly over the problem areas and chant:

Stone of beauty, stone of love
Erase imperfection as I rub.
Bring to me the face I see
As I will so mote it be!

Open the bottle of witch hazel and insert the stone. Take the rose petals in your dominant hand and say:

Venus, One of beauty rare.
I offer you these petals fair.
Bless them with your loveliness
And bring the beauty I request

Rub the petals over any line, wrinkles etc then drop them in the witch hazel. Cap the bottle tightly and give it six shakes each day for a week. At the end of the week, use it every day as a toner after face washing. As you apply it say:

Imperfections, go away.
Beauty of Venus, come forth this day.

INVISIBILITY SPELL:

INVISIBILTY SPELL:

Close your eyes and imagine a sphere of white light around you. Then imagine that the light starts to get blurry. It then takes on the colors and shapes of the environment around you. You fade into the light, becoming a part of it, until you completely disappear into the camouflage of the circle of light around you.

INVISIBILITY SPELL:

Items Needed:
* 1 part Fern leaf, dried
* 1 part poppy seed
* 2 parts slippery elm powder
* 1 part Myrrh
* 1 part Marojoram, dried
* 3 parts Dillweed, fresh if possible

Grind all together, mix well. Add 9 drops almond extract, with enough spring water to make everything barely moist. Place in ceramic bowl spread thinly as possible and dry the mixture over low heat, stir occasionally until lightly browned. Grind again chanting:
Things seen, and things not seen,
let me walk here between.
When finely powdered store in glass container. it will keep for years. Sprinkle a little bit on yourself, objects or in a place to be made invisible.

Blinding Spells:

BINDING OBJECTS:

Binding is a practical example of how a normally harmful and strictly "hands off" form of magic can be an effective and perfectly harmless magical procedure. If a friend wants to borrow something, and you feel hesitant in letting the object out of your hands, but you must, take the object (if it's something small enough to move around and hold) and a cord. Bind the object to your body -- literally, physically tie the object to yourself. Stand or sit a few minutes, visualizing yourself receiving the object back from the person you are loaning it to. Afterward, cut the cord (do not untie the knot!) and loan the object out, assured you'll once more have it in your possession. If the object is too large, such as a car, take a piece of cord, tie your hand or arm to a piece of it (such as the steering wheel, antenna, and so on) and proceed as above. Put the cord in a safe place until the object returns.

BINDING OF THREE:

1. Gather the three of you together.
2. Call the quarter, or elements (whichever you prefer)
3. Give honor to the Goddess, Queen of Heaven and Earth.

Now say the following:

We give honor and thanks to the Great Mother Goddess, creatures of all life, sustainer of the universe, protector of the innocent, originator of all love.
Mother, Queen of Heaven and Earth
Goddess of laughter and of mirth
Hear your daughters' voices three
and bind us with love and unity.

So Mote It Be.

Binding Spells

The purpose of this spell is to rid yourself of the negative energies of someone who is mentally or emotionally abusing you. If done properly, it will not harm the object of the spell nor will it affect his or her daily life in any way. It will simply make the person powerless to mentally or emotionally harm you.

Materials:
Small cloth doll, leave the head unstitched until you are ready to begin the ritual
Needle and thread
Some personal item from the person you want to bind (fingernail clippings, hair, handwriting sample)
Black ribbon
Black candle
Cauldron or other fireproof container
Sterilized needle
Piece of paper and pen
One candle at each quarter (optional)

Ritual:
Call the quarters - Place candles at each quarter to form a circle of fire for extra
protection. Light the black candle Concentrating deeply on the person you are binding, place the personal object inside the head of the doll and sew it shut. Tie the black ribbon around the puppet's head, signifying the binding of that person.

Say the following:

''With harm to none, my will be done I hereby bind you (name of person)
Your words cannot harm me
Your thoughts cannot harm me
You cannot harm me''

Continue chanting this until you feel power surging through you. Visualize the person helpless to slander or verbally and mentally abuse you while you are chanting. Now, to bind the spell - If you have a vigil or a Craft name, sign it on the small piece of paper. If not, sign your own full name. If others are working the ritual with you, they too should sign the paper. With the sterilized needle, prick one of your fingers and put a small drop of blood over your signature. Again, if others are working with you, they should place a drop of blood over their signatures. Fold the paper, light it on fire and drop it into the cauldron. Meditate on the flames until the paper completely burns away.
If you are working with a group, join hands at this point and feel the power surging around the circle as the spell is bound. Ground and center release the circle. Thank the Goddess and God for their protection and power Bury the doll as far away from you as possible within the next few days.

CANDLE BINDING:

Get a large white candle, the kind that drips wax, and set it up on a tray. Affix it to a photograph or other image of the person you wish to bind. Make a ring of sea salt around it. Make a second ring with protective herbs. Fill the rest of the tray with images that represent what you are binding the person from: pictures of your family, keys to your house, legal documents, whatever. If the problem is too complex for images, write what the person is bound from on slips of paper and place them around the candle. Papyrus, or paper made from cotton or linen work best for this. Use red ink if you are angry, purple ink if you are sad.
Wrap the candle and the image with black thread. Invoke Isis and Linda, the Binder with Linen Thread. Say out loud what you are binding the person from. Light the candle and leave it to burn until the wax begins to drip over the thread and image. Burn it every day for a week, until the image is thick with wax. Use this as a meditation device to direct your will to binding the person.

ODIN'S BINDING: BINDING + TRANSFORMATION:

This is a major spell, one that should be reserved for the most serious problems. Imposing your will on another is not something we normally do.
This spell is not meant to punish the person it binds, it is meant to help them. You cast it out of necessity and compassion, not in anger. It is designed to stop the person dead in their tracks, freeze them from doing harm to them self or others and give them pause, a clear space in which positive transformation can occur.

You need:
A puppet - any sort of puppet is fine, in the correct gender if possible. Personalize it in some way to the person you will bind, such as embroidering their name on it or affixing a picture of them to the puppet's face. I like to use a human shaped candle with the person's name written on it or carved into the wax.
Two candles, black ones if possible
Black thread
Incense (copal, fumitory, sandalwood and frankincense are good, but use whatever you can get)
An image of the person, or something connected with them. If you don't have anything, write their name on a piece of paper.
A healthy, living tree

Gather everything (except the tree) where you will cast the spell. Light one candle and the incense, cast a circle in your usual way. Bind the puppet with the thread, wrapping it around and around, making knots whenever you feel they are necessary. Speak to the person as you do this, telling them specifically why you are binding them and what you are binding them from. Leave a long piece of thread hanging from the puppet. Tie 9 knots in this. Drip molten wax on the bindings, to seal them. Use wax to seal any body parts you are binding, such as the hands of someone who beats his wife or kids, the crotch of a sexual predator, or the mouth of someone who is verbally abusive. Close the circle and ground power.

Leave the puppet on the altar, touching whatever you are using to connect them to it, until the candle and incense have burned out. Take the puppet and use the thread to tie it upside-down to a tree - an indoor tree will work as well as an outdoor one. Make the 5-fold bond, if it is possible to do this with the type of puppet and bindings you have used (as in the classic tarot card of the Hanged Man).

Say the following:

‘I ween that I hung on a windy tree,
Hung there for nights full nine;
With the spear I was wounded, and offered I was
To Odin, myself to myself,
On the tree that none may ever know
What root beneath it runs.'

Leave the puppet on the tree for nine days. Recite the poem to the puppet at least once each day, sending the person strong thoughts about the changes you want them to manifest. Send them compassion, send them enlightenment. Hold a mirror up to the puppet while you recite the poem if you want them to 'see' what they have done. Yell at the puppet if you have anger you need to release. This spell should be therapeutic for you too.
Take the puppet down on the ninth day, leaving it bound. Light the second black candle and drip its wax all over the puppet. Speak to the person while you do this, telling them whatever you think they need to hear. As soon as the wax sets, get the puppet out of your house and into the trash. Do not bury it.
If the tree shows signs of growth afterward, that is a good sign the transformation part of the spell is working. If it's spring and the tree was going to bloom anyway, more than the usual number of blossoms would be a good sign.

BINDING AN ENEMY:

Gather cobwebs from your house. Place them all a tangle upon a black cloth. Procure then a fly, recently dead, and set it down upon the mass of webs. These words should then be written down on paper:

"North, South, East, West
Spider’s web shall bind him best
East, West, North, South
Hold his limbs and stop his mouth
Seal his eyes and choke his breath
Wrap him round with ropes of death."

Fold the paper 4 times and wrap it, the fly and webs in the black cloth, forming a small bag. This should then be bound up with the end of a long cord and suspended from a hook in a dark corner of the home. Do not disturb it, but let it hang until it is thickly covered in dust. Then take down and bury it in the earth to work its influence in perpetual secrecy.
Healing:

HEALING SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY:

Prepare an envelope from a square of paper that you have folded - If you do not know how to do this, you can use a very small letter envelope. On the envelope write the word "Health". Then write the name(s) of the person you are directing the healing toward.

Enclose the following herbs into the envelope:
Angelica, Burdock, Galangal, Horehound, Elder, Lavender, Lemon Balm, Mandrake, Root, Rose, Rue, Sassafras, and Yellowdock.

Chant the following:

I charge these herbs to aid my spell,
that _______ (name of person) will be well,
That by free will that can be blessed,
with total health and happiness,
I ask the Goddess to hear my call,
that it may be correct and for the good of all.

Pass the envelope through your altar candle and catch the envelope on fire. Focus on the smoke and visualize the energy blowing with the smoke toward those in need. Allow the envelope to burn completely

I call upon a breath of wind,
Empowered by the Spirit of Air,
To carry my spell toward my kin,
and gracefully deliver it there.
By all the power of three times three,
this spell bound around shall be,
To cause no harm, nor return on me,
As I do will, So mote it be!

TO HEAL A FRIEND OR RELATIVE:

You Will Need:
Purple paper ,
White yarn or string
A pair scissors ,
Fresh violets (whole, with stems),
Black pen
A purple candle,
A small vase or holder (for flowers)

This spell is for healing a friend or family member. It is best done when the moon is full, but you can do it whenever you feel it necessary.
Light the candle and fill the small vase with water. Place the freshly cut violets in the little vase and say a chant, focusing on the well being of the person and the healing of their ailment.
Cut a heart out of the purple and write the name of the person on one side, and a short but heartfelt "Get Well!" message on the other side. Poke a small hole in the top right side of the heart and thread the white string through it, tie it, and attach it to the vase.
Give the little vase of violets to the target person and await their recovery.

Truth Spells:

TRUTH SPELL:

Materials: Thyme, A Red Candle, and a Herb dish.

Pour the thyme into the herb dish and say-

*Purification I do conjure,
So that thoughts be spoke,
No be pondered*

Light the candle and say-

*Passion so red,
Set to the fire,
Let the truth be said,
As is my desire*

Drop red wax onto the herbs and say-

*Mists of thyme,
Fire of red,
Send the truth to my head*

Now go to your front door and release the herbs to the wind. You shall let thyme fly and receive the truth.

TO LEARN THE TRUTH:

Light alter candles.
Light Incense.

Think hard on the subject about which you wish to learn the truth.
Light petitioners candle. A candle representing yourself. And say:

"This candle I light to represent myself. It burns as does the spirit. It is as myself in all things.

Light 2 white candles and say,
" These are the symbols for truth. They are enjoined about (your name) and to me show all truth.

Then say:

"As I roke in the night 'cross the brown heath bare,
In the bright moons light saw a castle fair;
Lords and ladies, great and small,
Where crowding in, 'twas a festival,
Grasses in the wind are waving.
They bade me welcome and I went
To drink their wine to my heart's content.
I danced and laughed with the ladies fair.
Ne'er in my life had I such cheer;
Grasses in the wind are waving.
Then all at once there came a cry:
Haro by yaro! Asleep fell I,
While a lady dancing at my side
Seemed like a lizared away to glide;
Grasses in the wind are waving.
I woke in the early light of day,
In an olden ruin I did lay,
O'er the rock and into the sun
I saw a green-gold lizard run!
Grasses in the wind are waving.
Now the truth I know and it stays with me,
For I have seen what I did see,
All secret knowledge came to mind,
Borne on laughter of the other kind;
Grasses in the wind are waving."

Sit there in quiet contemplation for half an hour. In this time will the truth of the subject in question come to you. Extinguish candles

SPELL TO SEE THE TRUTH:

To see the truth,
To know the way,
I cast a spell in every way,
By the power of three,
I conjure thee,
To give thy truth
unto me.

Breaking spells:

BREAKING A CURSE:

On the first night of the waxing moon, gather the following ingredients:

a square of black cloth a little larger than your hand.
1 tablespoon of curry
1 tablespoon of dill
1 tablespoon of vervain
1 tablespoon powdered ginger
1 consecrated black candle
paper and black ink pen
1 black string, knotted nine times

On paper, write the full name and birth date (if known) of the person who has cursed you. Place the paper in the center of the bag. One at a time, add the herbs, covering the slip of paper. Next, take the lit candle and drip 5-10 drops of wax over the paper and herbs.
Visualize the person who has cursed you and say their name aloud three times while tying the bag shut with the knotted string. The final step is to bury the bag someplace on the property of the person who cursed you. The bag must remain there undisturbed until the next waxing moon. At that time, dig up the bag and burn the contents. This will weaken that person's power (usually until the night of the full moon) and the curse

REMOVAL OF A SPELL:

Items : 3 cloves of garlic – water

Ritual : With water, grind the garlic into a paste. Rub the paste on the souls of the afflicted person's shoes, and on the front step of his(her) home. Create a blessing with the Sun retribution Symbol invoking enlightenment and clarity. This will negate earth spells.

REMOVING HEXES / CURSES:

Materials:
Old Cooking Pot
Black Candle
Water

Get yourself an old cooking pot, place a black candle in the center, fill the pot with water until it is 2 inches below the wick of the candle. Light the candle and say:

"If truly hexed or cursed I am, let it break with quench of flame".
Then stare into the flame and see all the negative energy being drawn into it. When the candle burns down to the water level, and the flame sputters out, say:
"So mote it!".

Dig a hole and empty the water into it. Now bury the candle. It is done.

REVERSE A SPELL:

This is to be used to reverse a spell cast upon a person, and return the spell upon the one who cast it. WARNING: Because of the Law of Threes, depending on the strength of the cast spell, this could cause great harm to the original spell-caster. This should only be used in dire need.
You will need a cast iron cauldron, a pile of oak wood, some mistletoe herb, water and 2 - 5 pounds of salt.
Collect the hair, nail clippings or anything of the person upon whom the spell was cast. Consecrate the ground and cover it with a layer of salt to prevent evil from interfering. Pile the Oak wood and light it. Place what ever was collected from the person into water in the cauldron and boil. Add mistletoe and perform an incantation. The spell is reversed.

As with any spell work, it were best to perform the spell inside a cast circle for protection.

TO BREAK A SORCERER'S CURSE:

If you feel that a sorcerer or sorceress has placed a magical curse upon you, your home, or your family, perform this curse-breaking spell just before midnight on the last night of the Full Moon. Light a new white candle and burn any of the following incense in a fireproof container: cloves, frankincense, hyacinth, lilac, pine or sage.
Hold a lucky rabbit's foot charm over your heart and repeat the following incantation thirteen times:

"With rabbit's foot and magic verse
I turn around this wicked curse.
As these words of mine are spoken
Let this evil spell be broken."

Repeat this spell nightly (using a brand-new candle each time) until the phase of the New Moon. Wrap the leftover wax from the candles in a white piece of cotton and then bury it in the ground in a secret spot where it will remain undisturbed.

TO BREAK A VOODOO CURSE:

On a night when the Moon is in a waning phase, take a blood root (a favorite Voodoo root used for breaking all evil spells and hexes) and throw it onto the doorstop of the person who has placed the curse upon you. You will then be released from his or her magical power and the imprecation will immediately be turned back to the sender of the curse.

TO REMOVE A HEX / JINXED CONDITION:

Although it is relatively rare that someone is truly hexed, it does happen. Also, it is important to note that the mind has a very powerful effect on the body, so if you believe yourself to be hexed, in effect, you are...This spell will remove any hexed or jinxed condition, whether real or imagined.
Fashion a puppet out of white felt or other white material. Stuff the puppet with vetivert herb, and place on your altar. Inscribe your name on a purple candle and anoint the candle with an appropriate oil. Visualize as strongly as possible the hex upon you...feel its power and the strength it has had over you...Now take a handful of garlic powder and sprinkle it over the puppet, while strongly visualizing the hex/jinxed condition being broken. Put as much feeling and emotion into this process as possible...now relax...allow the candle to burn down completely. It is finished...the hex is broken...so mote it be.

Levitation Spell:

This is white magic, and it is interesting. If you have two friends
over, have one lay on the floor face up. You and the other friend put your
hands under them and start chanting:
"Light as a feather, stiff as a board." (repeat over and over)
Start very loudly, then get softer until you are saying it in your mind.
Your friend will slowly start levitating.

Time Altering Spells:

SPEED UP TIME:

Draw a Pentacle on your left hand using a blessed red pen. Visualize a sand
clock as you draw.
Now put your left hand on your forehead, or third eye, and say:

SANDS OF TIME SHOW ME THY WAY
TURN THE NIGHTS INTO DAYS
ROSE PETALS SO LIGHT AND GRACE
SPEED UP TIME NOW, IN THIS PLACE

The spell will last for 24 hours or until the pentacle is erased, naturally
or washed, so don't try to get sweaty hands.

SLOW DOWN TIME:

Do the same you did in the other one but with a blue pen and in right hand,
also do the visualization but with the sands falling slower, say:

CORE GO ROUND
POWER BE BOUND
INTERUPT THE NATURE'S COURSE
TIME SLOW DOWN
CAST THE SPELL SAIDTH THIS WORDS

The same rules apply to this one

Spell to bring Spirits:

sit in a circle and say the following:

west chant: obey these words of power
east chant: watchers of the threshold, watchers at the gate
north chant: unbar the guarded door

author unknown

1/2 cup flour

1 tablespoon salt

3 tablespoon water

3 cups freshly chopped flower petals of herbs

Directions:

Mix flour, salt and water together in a small bowl until it forms a firm dough. Knead in flowers or herbs.

Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Now you are ready to create! Let finished pieces air dry for 2-3 days or until completely hard. After the piece is dry you can apply a layer of shellac to preserve it and add luster.

With your clay you can create beautiful beads in many shapes and sizes. Use a toothpick to poke a hole while still wet. After the beads are dry, you can string them to make unique bracelets, necklaces, tree garlands and room dividers.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2025873499308712210-5563768416153213648?l=stephen-grosso.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

13 goals

THIRTEEN GOALS OF A WITCH

<a name="#top"></a>
<a name="A">
A</a>
<a name="achtland">ACHTLAND</a>
(Pan-Celtic) A Goddess queen whom no mortal man could satisfy, she took a giant from the faery realm as her mate. Legend says that she took great pleasure combing his long, fair hair.
<a name="addanc">ADDANC</a>
(Welsh) Also spelled Affanc. Flood/deluge myths are almost a universal phenomenon in world mythology, with the best known in the west being the one concerning Noah in the Judeo-Christian tradition. Addanc is part of the Celtic flood myth, a primordial giant/God/faery (some accounts call him a dragon or demon) who created and rode the crest of the flood near his home on the Lake of WavesThe God/Hero Dwyvan, and his wife, the Goddess/Heroine Dwyvach, escaped the flood in an ark. Depending on your version of the myth, Addanc was slain either by oxen belong to Hu the Mighty, or by Peredur, and the waters receded.Though his has been reduced to faery of evil Demi-God by recent mythological scholarship, he was probably once a deity worshipped by the people of the lake region. Today Addanc is a word used to describe any evil fresh water-dwelling faery of Wales. .
<a name="adsullata">ADSULLATA</a>
(British) A Goddess of hot springs who came to Brittany from Celtic Gaul. She is the origin of the Anglo-Celtic sun Goddess Sul, and was most likely a minor sun Goddess in her own right before the time when the Celts relegated the majority of their sun images to male deities, and moon images to female ones.
</a>
<a name="aerten">AERTEN</a>
(Cornish, Anglo-Celtic, Welsh) Also spelled Aerfen, or Aeron. A Goddess of fate who presided over the outcome of war between several Celtic clans. She had a shrine at Glyndyfrdwy on the banks of the River Dee, where legend says that three human sacrifices had to be made every three years to ensure success in future battles.A Goddess of fate who presided over the outcome of a series of wars fought between rival clans. She is often equated with the Three Fates of Greco-Roman mythology.
<a name="agrona">AGRONA</a>
(Welsh, Anglo-Celtic) Goddess of slaughter and war often equated with the Morrigan. Though her name bears the root of the modern English word 'agronomy', the name for the scientific study of land cultivation, no evidence of her as a harvest/fertility Goddess can be found today.
<a name="aife">AIFE</a>
(Irish, Scottish) Also spelled Aoife. Aife was a Goddess and queen of the Isle of Shadow, an honor she shared with her rival and sister Scathach. Scathach operated a school on the Isle where she trained fighters, including the nearly invincible Red Branch warriors. Aife also ran a school for warriors, but was much less successful than her sister.Aife was not vulnerable to magick, and commanded a legion of fierce horsewomen. She had a son by Cuchulain whom she kept from Cuchulain until the boy was of age to join the Red Branch.Other sources place her as a consort of the sea God Manannan or one of his sons, and say she stole an Alphabet of Knowledge from the deities to give to humankind. For this transgression, and her general meanness, she was transformed into a crane by the elder deities. Some legends say she haunts the countryside in this form to this day, others that she was accidentally killed by hunters. Call on Aife for protection, for general knowledge, or for aid in teaching.
<a name="aimend">AIMEND</a>
(Irish, Scottish) A minor Celtic sun Goddess who was said to be the daughter of the king of the region known as Corco Loidhe.
<a name="albion">ALBION</a>
(Anglo-Celtic) A giant fathered by a forgotten Celtic Sea God who may have been part of a lost creation myth. He once was said to rule the Celtic world, and his name became the poetic name for Britain.
<a name="amaethon">AMAETHON</a>
(Welsh) God of Agriculture. A son of Don and brother of Gwydion, he is known from a limited number of Welsh texts and was engaged in a mythical battle against the Arawn. Associated with plowing and husbandry. The modern Welsh name for a farmer is amaethwr and the Welsh word for plowman is amaeth. He was a master magician, the son of the Goddess Don and brother of Govannon and Gwyddion, the latter to whom he taught the art of magick. Amaethon was one of the few beings, deity or mortal, permitted to venture into Annwn, the Land of the Dead, and return to the earth plane again without being harmed or greatly changed. However, while he was there, he stole away a sacred dog and a stag. This act was the indirect cause of one of the most famous events in Welsh mythology, the Battle of the Trees (Cad Goddeu). His other famous fight was against Bran, another agricultural God, and this may have been another case of the elder God trying to slay his successor.Amaethon was encouraged to try to earn the hand of Olwen, for many of his fellow Gods believed only he was capable of performing the forty monumental tasks required to win her. He refused the offer. Also Amaethaon
<a name="ambisagrus">AMBISAGRUS</a>
(Breton) This deity was originally from Gaul, where his Celtic identity was lost during the Roman takeover. Instead, Ambisagrus took on all the characteristics of the Roman GOd Jupiter. Jupiter's name (Jove in Latin) means "supreme God." He was a deity who was seen presiding over the city/state matters of Rome and of the realm of the deities.Other than his Jovian associations, Ambisagrus was primarily a weather deity who controlled the functions of rain, wind, hail, and fog.
<a name="andarta">ANDARTA</a>
(Gallic) Fertility Goddess and patron Goddess of the Vocontii tribe. Her name seems to have derived either from artos (bear) or ar (plowed land). See also Andraste
<a name="andraste">ANDRASTE</a>
(Romano-Celtic; British; Anglo-Celtic; Continental Europe) The patron Goddess of the Iceni tribe. This war Goddess' name means "the invincible one". Her presence was evoked on the eve of battle to curry favor, and possible ritual sacrifices were given to her. Queen Boadiccea of the Iceni offered sacrifices to Andraste in a sacred grove before fighting the Romans on her many campaigns against them. Also: Andrasta, Andarta
<a name="arawen">ARAWEN</a>
(Welsh)He was the King of the Underworld. His name means "silver-tongued". "King of Hell", "God of Annwn"He fought in the Battle of the Trees (Cad Goddeu) with Bran against Amathaon and Gwyddion. Arawn, like most Otherworld Gods, was a master hunter who rode a pale horse and rode with a pack of white hounds with red ears. The archetypal purpose of the hunt was to gather souls for the Otherworld if the quarry was not smart enough to evade the chase.Arawn possessed a magickal cauldron of regeneration, later captured by King Arthur. He bestowed on Pwyll the title Penn Annwn for his assistance and loyalty in time of need. Also: Arawn; Arawyn; Arrawn
<a name="ard">ARD GREIMME</a>
(Irish, Scottish) His name means "high power" or "High sun". He is the father of the famed warrioress sisters Aife and Scathach, and probably once a sun God in his own right.
<a name="ardwinna">ARDWINNA</a>
(Romano-Celtic, Cont. European) Goddess of forests and hunting. Known from inscription and figurines in the Ardennes region. Depicted riding on the back of a wild boar and presumed to be a guardian deity of boars. Identified by the Romans with the Goddess Diana. This woodland Goddess hunted the forests of Ardennes riding on a wild boar. She demanded a fine for any animal killed on her land, yet asked for animal sacrifices on her feast day. Though we no longer know her exact function in the Celtic pantheon, we can surmise that she was a Continental version of Ireland's Flidais, a woodland and animal Goddess. Her Gaulish name is Dea Arduinna. Also Ardunna, Arduinna.
<a name="ariadne">ARIADNE</a>
(Continental European) This Goddess of ancient Crete is the only Greek deity known to have been worshipped in Celtic Gaul. Her name is derived from the genus name for the spider, arachnid. In one of the few threads of extant Celtic creation myths, Ariadne spins the universe from the primordial darkness like a spider spins her web, a theme with echoes in the creation myths of many other cultures. Therefore this particular myth strikes many scholars and Pagans as being very un-Celtic, and it may have been a remnant of Indian mythology brought with the Celts on their long journey across the European Continent.
<a name="arianrhod">ARIANRHOD</a>
(Welsh) "Silver Wheel", "High Fruitful Mother", "Star Goddess", Sky Goddess; Virgin Goddess of reincarnation; Full Moon Goddess. Her palace was called Caer Arianrhod (Aurora Borealis) Keeper of the circling Silver Wheel of Stars; a symbol of time or karma. This wheel was also know as the Oar Wheel, a ship which carried dead warriors to the Moon land (Emania). Mother of Lleu Llaw Gyffes and Dylan by her brother Gwydion. Her original consort was Nwyvre (Sky or Firmament). Mother aspect of the Triple Goddess in Wales. Honored at the Full Moon. Beauty, fertility, reincarnation. Arianrhod's name means 'silver circle'. This major Welsh Goddess is the Goddess of reincarnation, the Wheel of the Year, the full moon, fertility, an da primal figure of female power. Some Celtic scholars believe her story represents the shift from woman-centered clans to patriarchal power. Her heavenly star/island, Caer Arianrhod in the Corona Borealis, is believed in some Welsh traditions to be the place where dead souls go to await reincarnation. There she lives with her female attendants presiding over the fates of the departed. She is sometimes depicted as a weaver, which links her to lost creation myths and to magickal practice, sometimes called 'weaving a spell'.Arianrhod mated freely with whomever she chose and was not questioned until the magician Math claimed she had conceived two children that she had not borne. By jumping a staff she gave birth to Llew and Dylan. Dylan left immediately to go to the sea. Arianrhod denied the remaining son, Llew, the right to bear a name or arms, as was a Welsh mother's right to bestow. She was later tricked into bestowing both. She married her brother Gwyddion, and she is the daughter of the great Welsh Goddess, Don.Arianrhod can be invoked to help females find their own feminine power. She can also assist you with spirit contact, sex and fertility magick, and past-life knowledge. Because her myths are linked with jumping the broom, an event which is part of Pagan marriage, she can be called upon to bless Handfasting rites.
<a name="arnamentia">ARNAMENTIA</a>
(Anglo-Celtic, Romano-Celtic, British) Water Goddess known only from inscriptions.Goddess of spring waters, healing and purification. Probably once a minor Sun deity.
ARTHUR, KING
(Welsh, Cornish)The search for the truth behind the persistent legends of King Arthur and his Camelot have consumed humankind since the Middle Ages. The stories we know today as Arthurian are largely Christianizations of older Celtic myths, and we are familiar with them through he medieval writings of Tennyson, Mallory, and Geoffrey of Monouth. Arthur is probably based on a seventh-century king named Artorius who led the fight to drive the Saxons from Britain, and later his myth and imagery was merged with that of a now-forgotten Father/Sacrificial God. Because of the pervasiveness of these legends, more strong archetypal associations have been placed on him, and the character who people the myths surrounding him, than any other single mythic figure. He is at once a God, a father figure, a warrior, a leader, a sacrificial king, a protector, and the gallant defender of justice and mercy.Arthur was the son of King Uther Pendragon and Igraine, the Duchess of Cornwall. He was taught and protected by the magician/Druid Merlin, married Guinevere, a Triple Goddess/May Queen figure, and was mortally wounded in battle by his son Mordred (by Morgan LaFay). Arthur's body was carried to Avalon to sleep and await the time when he is needed. Therefore he is a sacrificial God/king in the purest sense.Other stories say he was changed into a raven upon his death, and Celtic folklore often sees dead figures turned into birds, an archetypal symbol of the transition to the spirit world.Writing at the end of the nineteenth century, Celtic mythologist Sir John Rhys believed the Arthurian stories parallel that of Fionn MacCumhal of Irish lore (i.e. the Round Table compares with the Fenian warriors), and also parallels most of the old tales of Gwyddion. Of all the major Welsh folk heroes, only Gwyddion is conspicuously absent from the Arthurian legends. Rhys also asserted that "Knights of the Round Table" are barely disguised Welsh deities made acceptable to a medieval audience.
<a name="artio">ARTIO</a>
(Continental, Anglo-Celtic) A bear Goddess of abundance, strength and the harvest. This bear Goddess was the consort of Essus. A shrine to her once stood in what is now Berne, Switzerland. Like Eostre, she was probably once a Teutonic deity. She is depicted as being surrounded by full baskets and animals, therefore it can be surmised that she was a fertility and harvest Goddess, and a Goddess of wildlife.
<a name="avagdu">AVAGDU</a>
(Welsh) Also spelled Afagddu, he was the son of Cerridwen and Tegid, brother of Movron and dubbed the ugliest child in the world while his sister, Creirwy, was most beautiful. He made up for his shortcomings when his mother brewed him a great cauldron of inspiration and knowledge so that he would be the most learned man in the world. Unfortunately, there are many twists and turns in this tale, and Avagdu never did get his gift of wisdom, though the story makes clear that much of the gift he wanted was within him all the time. The moral to this myth is straightforward enough - there is more to everyone than can be told by mere physical appearance. Always look deeply into yourself and into others. Work with him to discover the hidden wisdom inside yourself.
<a name="aveta">AVETA</a>
(Romano-Celtic Gallic) Goddess of birth and midwifery. Known mainly from clay figurines found at Toulon-Sur-Allier, France. The models show the goddess with infants at her breast and apparently she is concerned especially with nursing mothers. The figurine is often accompanied by a small lapdog.

<a name="#top"></a>
<a name="b">
B</a>
<a name="badb">BADB</a>
(Irish) [Bayv, Bibe, Bive, or Beev] Also spelled Badhbh and Badb Catha, is a Crone aspect of the Triple Goddess who is often called 'The Fury'. Her Gaulish names are <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesc.html#cuath">Cauth Bodva</a> and <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesc.html#cathubodua">Cathubodua</a>.Her archetype as a war Goddess is particularly strong, and she is a part of the dreaded Morrigan, a triplicity of crone Goddesses associated with death, destruction, and battle. She is often linked with the death portent faery, the Beansidhe (usually written in English as "Banshee"), who was seen washing the armor of soldiers who would perish in the upcoming battle. Badb usually appeared over the fury of the battle as a hooded crow, but sometimes ran wild among the fighting in the guise of a wolf. In her own battle, she is one of the deities who drove the Formorians (sometimes called the Formors or the Formorii) out of Ireland forever.A daughter of Ernmas, she is called 'the one who boils', as in boiling the Otherworld cauldron of death and rebirth which she is thought by many to preside over, deciding the fate of those who have passed over into its great cosmic mix. In Celtic eschatology (end of world beliefs), it is Badb who will cause the end of earthly time by causing the great cauldron to boil over, engulfing the planet in a great wasteland.Badb prophesied the downfall of the deities (the Tuatha) to the humans (the Milesians) and many believe she also prophesied the Great Famine of 1845-1849.
<a name="barinthus">BARINTHUS</a>
(Welsh, Anglo-Celtic) A charioteer to the residents of the Otherworld who was once probably a sea or sun God. He is mentioned by Geoffrey of Monmouth in his Vita Merlini
<a name="belatucadros">BELATUCADROS</a>
(British) Celtic War God. According to some authors he is the horned god of the North equating to Cernunnos. The Romans syncretized him with the god Mars.(Britain) God of war and of the destruction. His name means "fair shining one". The Romans equated him with their god Mars.
<a name="beli">BELI</a>
(Welsh) The primary Welsh father God, husband of Don, and father of Arianrhod. Also a minor sun God who some feel is the Welsh equivalent of Balor. Other scholars cite his name as being the origin of the name for the Bealtaine Sabbat, though most of his associations are now deeply linked with Samhain. Now Beli's principal role is that of the God of death and king of the Underworld. He is also linked to several of the legends concerning the sacred Pagan site of Glastonbury Tor where balefires were lit on Bealtaine and Samhain up until the Commonwealth period (1640-1660). Some legends say that this site is the home of the death God <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesg-h-i.html#gwyan">Gwyn Ap Nuad</a>, and that Beli purifies this site with his fires each Sabbat. Also: Belenus (continental-European); Belinus, Belanos, Belinos (Anglo-Celtic); Belimawr; Beli (Welsh); Bel, Bile (Scottish); Beltene (Irish); Apollo-Belenus (Romano-Celtic)
<a name="belisama">BELISAMA</a>
(Celtic) Goddess of light and fire, the forge and of crafts. She is the wife of the god Belenus (Beli) and the Goddess of the Mersey River.
<a name="bellona">BELLONA</a>
(Scottish) This battlefield Goddess is mentioned in the second scene of Shakespeare's MacBeth. Her name is probably a Latinized or corrupted form of Ireland's Badb, a Goddess with similar properties. In Roman mythology she is a Mother Goddess and Goddess of war. She becomes syncretized with the Cappadocian mother Goddess Ma. The first known temple dedicated to Ma-Bellona by the Romans is dated to 296 BCE. Bellona was attended by Asiatic priests who performed frenzied dances and gashed themselves with swords, offering the blood on the Goddess's altars. Because of its violent nature, Rome refused to officially recognize the cult until the third century CE.

<a name="bladud">BLADUD</a>
(Welsh, Anglo-Celtic) This 'flying king' was probably a regional sun God. He is associated with the sacred English hot spring known as Aquae Sulis, and area occupied heavily by Roman forces which appropriated many of the local deities. He is depicted in a famous stone carving near the spring as a very virile male figure with flaming hair, the radiant features making him unmistakable a sun God. Several Goddesses were also sacred to this hot spring, including Brid, whom the Romans called Minerva.
<a name="blodeuwedd">BLODEUWEDD</a>
(blod-oo-eeth) (Welsh) "Flower Face"; "White Flower". Lily maid of Celtic initiation ceremonies. Also known as the Ninefold Goddess of the Western Isles of Paradise. Created by Math and Gwydion as a wife for Lleu. She was changed into an owl for her adultery and for plotting Lleu's death. The Maiden form of the Triple Goddess; her symbol was the owl; goddess of the Earth in bloom. Flowers, wisdom, lunar mysteries, initiations. Blodeuwedd was created from the flowers of oak, broom, and meadowsweet by Gwyddion and Math as a wife for Gwyddion's nephew Llew. This arose because Llew had been cursed by his mother, Arianrhod, that he would never win a bride of his own people. While Llew was away one day Blodeuwedd saw Gronw hunting in the woods and the two fell madly in love at first sight. She and Gronw made plans to kill Llew, but because he was no mere mortal, Gronw asked his lover to discover for him the secret of his death. Blodeuwedd coaxed the information out of Llew, and not only passed the information along to Gronw, but tricked Llew into being at the right place at the right time. At the moment of his death, Llew turned into an eagle and flew away. Gwyddion sought out Blodeuwedd to seek revenge, and for her punishment decided he would turn her into a bird, on which only lived by night, a carnivore whom other birds shunned and feared. Thus she became an owl.She can be viewed as a May Queen, bound in sacred marriage to sacrificial king who must eventually be sacrificed to her and through her to his people. Also: Blodwin; Blancheflor
<a name="borvo">BORVO</a>
(Breton) God of healing. Borvo's name means 'to boil' (similar to Goddess Badb), and he was a God of the hot springs. He replaced his mother, <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesr-s.html#sirona">Sirona,</a> in this function when her story was patriarchized. The spring he ruled had tremendous healing powers.
<a name="bran">BRAN THE BLESSED</a>
(Welsh, Pan-Celtic)Also Bran MacFebal. His name means 'crow', or 'Raven'. The brother of the mighty Manawydan ap Llyr (Ireland, Mannanan mac Lir) and Branwen; son of Llyr, and in Welsh sagas he is also the son of the Goddess Iweridd. Associated with ravens, he is the God of prophecy, the arts, leader, war, the Sun, music, writing. A master of the Isle of Britain, he is a cauldron-God, associated with a cauldron of regeneration which would revive the slain while leaving them voiceless. The giant of a man set out with an army to avenge the ill-treatment of his sister <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesb.html#branwen">Branwen</a> by her husband, King Matholwch of Ireland who blamed her for an insult they endured at their wedding. Nothing would stop his army's progress, and he once laid down across the Shannon river so his forces could use him as a bridge to walk across. In the Battle of the Trees, he could not be defeated unless someone could guess his name (a common mythological ploy in western Europe) and Gwyddion was able to do this. His forces won the battle, but he was fatally wounded by taking a poisoned arrow in the foot. His cauldron destroyed, and he mortally wounded in a war to rescue his sister Branwen, he instructed his adherents to decapitate him and, after many travels, bear the head to London and bury it, where it would become a defense and a protection to the whole Isle. His grieving troops took his head to their stronghold at Harlech for a period of seven years where it talked and offered warnings and divinations. It then sat eighty-seven years at Gwales (a place unknown today), then it was taken to London where it was set facing France so that is could warn of invasion. Also: Benedigeidfran; Brennus (Gallic)
<a name="branwen">BRANWEN</a>
(Manx, Welsh, Pan-Celtic) Sister of Bran the Blesses and wife of the Irish king Mathowch. Venus of the Northern Seas; one of the three matriarchs of Britain; Lady of the Lake (cauldron); Goddess of Love and Beauty. Welsh love goddess. In the Mabinogion, She is a central figure in being wed to the High King of Ireland and thereby encompassing the doom of both the Irish and Britons, when her brother Bran invades Ireland to rescue her from the degradation she experiences at the hands of a vengeful Court. A daughter of Manannan and Iweridd whose name means "fair bosom". She is often equated with the Greek Aphrodite and is a Goddess of love, sexuality, and of the sea.She was married to Mathowch, a king of Ireland who fought a battle with <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesb.html#bran">Bran</a> after a wedding feast insult. Her son Gwern was put in his place but immediately killed. She died of a broken heart during the war between Wales and England, which began with an insult at her wedding feast, which she believed was her fault. It had, in fact, been the deliberate act of Evnissyn, a jealous courtier who thrived on malicious mischief. Also: Branwyn
<a name="brid">BRID</a>
(Pan-Celtic) [breet or breed] Also Brigit, Brigid, Bride, Brighid, Bridget, Brigindo, and Banfile. Her name comes from the old Irish word brigh, meaning "Power"; "Renown"; "Fiery Arrow or Power" (Breo-saighead). Daughter of The Dagda and one of the Great mother Goddess of Ireland. At one time in History most of Ireland was united in praise and worship of her. She probably was one and the same with Dana, the first great mother Goddess of the Irish. Called the poetess, often called the Triple Brigids, Three Blessed Ladies of Britain, The Three Mothers. Another aspect of Danu; associated with Imbolc. She had an exclusive female priesthood at Kildare and an ever-burning sacred fire. The number of her priestesses was nineteen, representing the nineteen-year cycle of the "Celtic Great Year". Her kelles were sacred prostitutes and her soldiers brigands. Goddess of fire, fertility, the hearth, all feminine arts and crafts, and martial arts. Healing, physicians, agriculture, inspiration, learning, poetry, divination, prophecy, smithcraft, animal husbandry, love, witchcraft, occult knowledge.A major Celtic pastoral deity, described as a "wise woman. Brid became "Christianized" as St. Brigit of Kildare, who is said to have lived from 450-523 AD and founded the first female Christian monastery community in Ireland. In reality her shrine at Kildare was desecrated and adopted as a holy site by Christian missionaries who turned her into their Saint Brigit in an attempt to Christianize her pagan followers. She was originally celebrated on February 1 in the festival of Imbolc, which coincided with the beginning of lactation in ewes and was regarded in Scotland as the date on which Brigit deposed the blue-faced hag of winter (see <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesc.html#cailleach">Cailleach Bheur</a>). The Christian calendar adopted the same date for the Feast of St. Brigit. There is no record that a Christian saint ever actually existed, but in Irish mythology she became the midwife to the Virgin Mary. The name can be traced into many Irish and European place names. It is also akin to Brahati which means "exalted one" in Sanskrit. In pre-Roman Britain, she was the tutelary Goddess of the Brigantes tribe, and like so many Celtic Goddesses, she has some riverine associations. Brid represents the supernal mother, fertility, and creative inspiration. She has also been worshipped as a warrioress and protectress, a healer, a guardian of children, a slayer of serpents, a sovereign, and a Goddess of fire and the sun. Still other sources say she was the Goddess of agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, crafting and music.
<a name="brigantia">BRIGANTIA</a>
(British, Anglo-Celtic) "High One"; pastoral and river goddess. Associated with Imbolc. Flocks, cattle, water, fertility; healing; victory. Tutelary Goddess of the Brigantes of West Riding of Yorkshire. She became identified with Caelestis, at Corbridge Northumberland, there is an altar inscribed to various deities, including Caelestic Brigantia. In carved stone relief at Birrens, on the Antonine Wall in Scotland, she is depicted with the attributes of Minerva. She may also bear links with the Goddess Brigit. She is frequently associated with water and herding. She is the Goddess whose face and sovereignty are the source of the appellation Britannia for Great Britain. As a Goddess of sovereignty, she is usually thought of as the <a href="http://www.joellessacredgrove.com/Celtic/deitiesb.html#brid">Brid</a> of England. In 1667 Charles I had her face placed on the coinage where it remains today, reviving an old custom, first instituted by the invading Romans who adopted her as their own.
<a name="britannia">BRITANNIA</a>
(Romano-Celtic British) Tutelary Goddess. The genia loci of Britain who first appears on the coinage of Antoninius Pius in the 2nd century AD. She became the symbol of the British Empire after being partly syncretized with the war goddess Minerva." =============================

Below please find information on the modern religion of Witchcraft. After
being the victims of hundreds of years of 'bad press', Witches are beginning
to go public and to define themselves and their religion.

We hope, by this endeavor, to counteract the tendency to associate psychotic
events or Satanic rites with the practices of our life-affirming beliefs.
Moreover, we acknowledge the need to establish positive interfaith dialogue
with members of other local religious communities.

Although there are a number of Witchcraft Anti-Defamation Leagues throughout
the country, none are presently active in the Kansas City area. Thus, we at
the Magick Lantern have compiled this information to provide an overview of
Witchcraft, or Wicca, in its contemporary form. The Magick Lantern is a
bookstore founded in 1984 to serve the occult community of Kansas City. Its
owner, Mike Nichols, is an ordained minister of Wicca, with all the rights,
privileges and responsibilities of that office.

We have included in this outline a brief statement on each of the following:

* Definitions
* Frequently Asked Questions w/ Answers

* Basic Philosophy

DEFINITIONS
===========

OCCULT -- occluded or hidden, secret; the study of secret or hidden knowledge.
Secret societies include the Masons and Rosicrucians.

EARTH RELIGION -- a religion whose main tenet is that the worshipper be in
harmony with the Earth and with all life. Such religions oppose the idea that
the world is a resource to be subdued and exploited.

PAGAN -- a practitioner of an Earth Religion; from the Latin 'paganus',
meaning 'country dweller'.

NEO-PAGANISM -- a modern Earth Religion which borrows and adapts from the best
of pre-Christian Pagan religions, sometimes with additions from contemporary
religious thinkers.

WITCHCRAFT -- a magical Neo-Pagan religion with many diverse traditions
derived from various cultural sources (though mostly European) around which
Covens and solitary practitioners base their practices. Modern Witchcraft
traditions include: Gardnerian, Alexandrian, Dianic, Celtic, Traditionalist,
Faerie, NROOGD, Druidic and others.

THE CRAFT -- another name for Witchcraft.

COVEN -- a congregation of Witches, usually at least three but no more than 13
members.

WITCH -- one who worships the Goddess(es) and/or God(s) of Paganism, practices
magic, and considers her/himself to be a follower of the spiritual path of
Witchcraft.

MAGIC -- the conscious use of psychic energy, accompanied by ritual, to
accomplish a goal; often spelled 'magick' to distinguish it from stage magic
(such as sleight-of-hand).

SABBAT -- any one of the eight seasonal festivals equally spaced throughout
the year, celebrated by individuals and Covens of Witches.

ESBAT -- any one of the 13 lunar festivals throughout the year, celebrated by
Witches at the times of the full moon.

PENTAGRAM -- a five-pointed star, ancient symbol of good luck and protection.
Displayed with one point up, it is the most common emblem of Witchcraft. When
displayed inverted (two points up), it MAY represent negative magic (or
Satanism), but not necessarily; some traditions of Wicca (chiefly British) use
it as a POSITIVE symbol of advanced rank.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS W/ ANSWERS
=====================================

Q. What form does the practice of Witchcraft take?
A. The form and context vary from group to group and between each ritual, and
may run the gamut from elaborate ceremony to spontaneous ritual to simple
meditation.

Q. How do you see the Goddess?
A. As the immanent life force; as Mother Nature; as the interconnectedness of
all life.

Q. Do all Witches practice their religion the same way?
A. Yes and no. Wicca is a highly individualistic religion. Moreover, the
number of different sects within the Craft may give the impression that no two
groups practice the same way. Though practices may vary, most traditions have
many similarities, such as the working of magic and a respect for nature.
Most Witches find enough common ground for mutual supposrt and productive
networking throughout the Craft community.

Q. Is Witchcraft a 'cult'?
A. No. Cults are groups that trade 'salvation' and a sense of belonging for
the ability to think for oneself. They indulge in 'extravagant homage or
adoration' (Webster's Dictionary) usually of an earthly leader of some sort.
This is the antithesis of the Witchcraft experience. Most Witches come to the
Craft through reading and communing with nature and later finding like-minded
people. Witches are extremely individualistic.

Q. Do Witches have a bible?
A. No. A bible is supposedly the word of a deity revealed through a prophet.
Witchcraft is a Pagan folk-religion of personal experience. A Witch may keep
a 'Book of Shadows' which is more like an individual's workbook or journal --
meaningful to the person who keeps it -- containing rituals, discoveries,
spells, poetry, herb lore, etc. Covens may keep a similar group book.

Q. Do Witches cast spells?
A. Some do and some don't. A spell is a ritual formula, or series of steps,
to direct psychic energy to accomplish a desired end. Energy may be drawn
from the Earth, concentrated and sent out into the world. Since Witchcraft
teaches that whatever one sends out is returned threefold, Witches tend to be
very careful never to send out harmful energy.

Q. Do Witches worship the devil?
A. No. The worship of Satan is the practice of profaning Christian symbolism,
and is thus a Christian heresy rather than a Pagan religion. The gods and
goddesses of the Witches are in no way connected to Satanic practices. Most
Witches do not even believe in Satan, let alone worship him.

Q. Are Witches only women?
A. No, although women do seem to predominate in the Craft overall. In fact,
some traditions have only women practitioners, just as others have only men.
A male Witch is simply called a Witch, never a warlock.

Q. How can someone find out more about Witchcraft?
A. Ours is not a missionary religion, and we never try to make converts.
However, for those who are interested, there are many excellent books, and
many Witches teach classes or facilitate discussion groups. In this way,
people may make contact with a like-minded Coven or form their own group.
There are also Witchcraft networks, periodicals, and national and regional
festivals through which a seeker can make contact with the larger Craft
community.

BASIC PHILOSOPHY
================

Wicca, or Witchcraft, is an earth religion -- a re-linking with the life force
of nature, both on this planet and in the stars and space beyond. In city
apartments, in suburban backyards, and in country glades, groups of women and
men meet on the new and full moons and at festival times to raise energy and
put themselves in tune with these natural forces. They honor the old
goddesses and gods, including the Triple Goddess of the waxing, full, and
waning moon, and the Horned God of the sun and animal life, as visualizations
of immanent nature.

Our religion is not a series of precepts or beliefs, but rather we believe
that we each have within ourselves the capacity to reach out and experience
the mystery -- that feeling of ineffable oneness with all life. Those who
wish to experience this transcendence must work, and create, and participate
in their individual religious lives. For this reason our congregations,
called covens, are small groups which give room for each individual to
contribute to the efforts of the group by self-knowledge and creative
experimentation within the agreed-upon group structure or tradition.

There are many traditions or sects within the Craft. Different groups take
their inspiration from the pre-Christian religions of certain ethnic groups
(e.g. Celtic, Greek, Norse); in the liturgical works of some modern Witch poet
or scholar (e.g. Gerald Gardner, Z Budapest, Alex Sanders, Starhawk, Raymond
Buckland, Robert Graves); or by seeking within themselves for inspiration and
direction. Many feminists have turned to Wicca and the role of priestess for
healing and strength after the patriarchal oppression and lack of voice for
women in the major world religions.

There are many paths to spiritual growth. Wicca is a participatory
revelation, a celebratory action leading to greater understanding of oneself
and the universe. We believe there is much to learn by studying our past,
through myth, through ritual drama, through poetry and song, through love and
through living in harmony with the Earth.

HOLIDAYS
========

Despite competition from twentieth century 'life in the fast lane', the
awesome spectacle repeated in the patterns of the changing seasons still
touches our lives. During the ages when people worked more closely with
nature just to survive, the numinous power of this pattern had supreme
recognition. Rituals and festivals evolved to channel these transformations
for the good of the community toward a good sowing and harvest and boutiful
hunting.

One result of this process is our image of the 'Wheel of the Year' with its
eight spokes -- the four major agricultural and pastoral festivals and the
four minor solar festivals commemorating seasonal solstices and equinoxes. In
common with many ancient people, most Witches consider the day as beginning at
sundown and ending at sundown on the following day. Hence a sabbat such as
November Eve runs through the day of November 1st. Solstice and Equinox dates
may vary by a few days depending on the year.

October 31 -- November Eve -- Samhain
-------------------------------------

Samhain means 'summer's end', for now nights lengthen, winter begins, and we
work with the positive aspects of the dark tides. In the increasing starlight
and moonlight, we hone our divinatory and psychic skills. Many Craft
traditions, and the ancient Celts, consider this New Year's Eve. It is the
one night when the veil that separates our world from the next is at its
thinnest, allowing the dead to return to the world of the living, to be
welcomed and feasted by their kin. The Christian religion adopted this theme
as 'All Saints Day' or 'All Hallows Day' (Nov. 1), celebrating the eve as 'All
Hallows Eve' or 'Halloween'. The alternative date of November 6 ('Martinmas'
or 'Old Hallows') is sometimes employed by Covens.

December 21 -- Winter Solstice -- Yule
--------------------------------------

'Yule' means 'wheel', for now the wheel of the year has reached a turning
point, with the longest night of the year. This is the seedpoint of the solar
year, mid-winter, time of greatest darkness when we seek within ourselves to
comprehend our true nature. In virtually all Pagan religions, this is the
night the Great Mother Goddess gives birth to the baby Sun God, because from
this day forward, the days begin to lengthen, light is waxing. The Christian
religion adopted this theme as the birthday of Jesus, calling it 'Christmas'.
The alternative fixed calendar date of December 25th (called 'Old Yule' by
some Covens) occurs because, before various calendar changes, that was the
date of the solstice.

January 31 -- February Eve -- Imbolc
------------------------------------

Actually, this holiday is most usually celebrated beginning at sundown on
February 1, continuing through the day of February 2. 'Imbolc' means 'in the
belly (of the Mother)' because that is where seeds are beginning to stir. It
is Spring. Another name for the holiday is 'Oimelc', meaning 'milk of ewes',
since it is lambing season. It was especially sacred to the Celtic Fire
Goddess, Brigit, patron of smithcraft, healing (midwifery), and poetry. A
Coven's High Priestess may wear a crown of lights (candles) to symbolize the
return of the Goddess to her Maiden aspect, just as the Sun God has reached
puberty. Weather lore associated with this sabbat is retained by the folk
holiday of 'Groundhog's Day'. The Christian religion adopted a number of
these themes, as follows. February 1 became 'St. Brigit's Day', and February
2 became 'Candlemas', the day to make and bless candles for the liturgical
year. The 'Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary' adapts the
Maiden Goddess theme. The alternative date of February 14 ( 'Old Candlemas',
Christianized as 'Valentine's Day') is employed by some Covens.

March 21 -- Vernal Equinox -- Lady Day
--------------------------------------

As Spring reaches its midpoint, night and day stand in perfect balance, with
light on the increase. The young Sun God now celebrates a hierogamy (sacred
marriage) with the young Maiden Goddess, who conceives. In nine months, she
will again become the Great Mother. It is a time of great fertility, new
growth, and newborn animals. The next full moon (a time of increased births)
is called the 'Ostara' and is sacred to Eostre, Saxon lunar goddess of
fertility (from whence we get the word 'eostrogen'), whose two symbols were
the egg and the rabbit. The Christian religion adopted these emblems for
'Easter', celebrated the first Sunday after the first full moon after the
vernal equinox. The theme of the conception of the Goddess was adapted as the
'Feast of the Annunciation', occuring on the alternative fixed calendar date
of March 25 ('Old Lady Day'), the earlier date of the equinox. 'Lady Day' may
also refer to other goddesses (such as Venus and Aphrodite), many of whom has
festivals celebrated at this time.

April 30 -- May Eve -- Beltaine
-------------------------------

'Beltane' means 'fire of Bel', Belinos being one name for the Sun God, whose
coronation feast we now celebrate. As summer begins, weather becomes warmer,
and the plant world blossoms, an exuberant mood prevails. It is a time of
unabashed sexuality and promiscuity.
Young people spend the entire night in the woods 'a-maying', and dance
around the phallic Maypole the next morning. Older married couples may remove
their wedding rings (and the restrictions they imply) for this one night. May
morning is a magical time for 'wild' water (dew, flowing streams, and springs)
which is collected and used to bathe in for beauty, or to drink for health.
The Christian religion had only a poor substitute for the life-affirming
Maypole -- namely, the death-affirming cross. Hence, in the Christian
calendar, this was celebrated as 'Roodmas'. In Germany, it was the feast of
Saint Walpurga, or 'Walpurgisnacht'. An alternative date around May 5 (Old
Beltaine), when the sun reaches 15 degrees Taurus, is sometimes employed by
Covens. (Both 'Lady Day' and 'Ostara' are names incorrectly assigned to this
holiday by some modern traditions of Wicca.)

June 21 -- Summer Solstice -- Litha
-----------------------------------

Although the name 'Litha' is not well attested, it may come from Saxon
tradition -- the opposite of 'Yule'. On this longest day of the year, light
and life are abundant. At mid-summer, the Sun God has reached the moment of
his greatest strength. Seated on his greenwood throne, he is also lord of the
forests, and his face is seen in church architecture peering from countless
foliate masks. The Christian religion converted this day of Jack-in-the-Green
to the Feast of St. John the Baptist, often portraying him in rustic attire,
sometimes with horns and cloven feet (like the Greek god Pan)! Midsummer
Night's Eve is also special for adherents of the Faerie faith. The
alternative fixed calendar date of June 25 (Old Litha) is sometimes employed
by Covens. (The name 'Beltaine' is sometimes incorrectly assigned to this
holiday by some modern traditions of Wicca, even though 'Beltaine' is the
Gaelic word for 'May'.)

July 31 -- August Eve -- Lughnassad
-----------------------------------

'Lughnassad' means 'the funeral games of Lugh', referring to Lugh, the Irish
sun god. However, the funeral is not his own, but the funeral games he hosts
in honor of his foster-mother Tailte. For that reason, the traditional
Tailtean craft fairs and Tailtean marriages (which last for a year and a day)
are celebrated at this time. As autumn begins, the Sun God enters his old
age, but is not yet dead. It is also a celebration of the first harvest. The
Christian religion adopted this theme and called it 'Lammas', meaning 'loaf-
mass', a time when newly baked loaves of bread are placed on the altar. An
alternative date around August 5 (Old Lammas), when the sun reaches 15 degrees
Leo, is sometimes employed by Covens.

September 21 -- Autumnal Equinox -- Harvest Home
------------------------------------------------

In many mythologies, this is the day the Sun God, the God of Light, is killed
by his rival and dark twin, the God of Darkness -- who was born at Midsummer,
reached puberty at Lammas, and lives a mirror-image life of the Sun God. From
this mid-Autumn day forward, darkness will be greater than light, just as
night becomes longer than day. So it is a festival of sacrifice, including
that of the Sun God in his aspect of Spirit of the Fields, John Barleycorn --
for this is the final grain harvest. The Christian religion adopted it as
'Michaelmas', celebrated on the alternative date September 25, the old equinox
date (Old Harvest Home). (The Welsh word 'Mabon', meaning 'son', is used by
some Witches for the name of this holiday, although such usage is recent and
not attested historically.)

GENERAL PRACTICES
=================

The roots of the religion called Wicca, or Witchcraft, are very old, coming
down to us through a variety of channels worldwide. Although any general
statement about our practices will have exceptions, the following will attempt
to present a basic foundation for understanding. Some of the old practices
were lost when indigenous religions encountered militant Christianity and were
forced to go underground for survival. The ancient mystery religions were
lost when the practice of the rites were stopped and the old verbal traditions
were no longer available. Parents transmitted their traditions to their
children down through the centuries with parts being lost and new parts
created. These survivals, along with research into the old ways, provide a
rich foundation for modern practice. Other factors contributing to the
revival of the Craft are archeological and anthropological studies of the
religious practices of non-Christian cultures, the works of the Golden Dawn
and other metaphysical orders, and the liberalization of anti-Witchcraft laws.

Modern Witches hold rituals according to the turning of the seasons, the tides
of the moon, and personal needs. Most rituals are performed in a ritual space
marked by a circle. We do not build church buildings to create this ritual
space -- all of Earth is in touch with the Goddess and so any place may be
consecrated to use for a rite.

Within this sacred circle, two main activities occur -- celebration and the
practice of magic. Celebration is most important at the major seasonal
holidays, called Sabbats. At these times the myths of that particular holiday
are enacted and dancing, singing, feasting, and revelry are all part of the
festivities. On these occasions we celebrate our oneness with Life. Magic is
more often performed at gatherings called Esbats, which coincide with the
phases of the moon. Types of magic practiced include psychic healing
sessions, the channeling of energy to achieve positive results, and work
toward the individual spiritual development of the coven members. Magic is an
art which requires adherence to certain principles. It requires a conscious
direction of will toward a desired end.
It is an attribute of magic that what you direct your will toward will
return to you three times. Therefore, Witches are careful to practice only
beneficial magic.

When the celebration, teaching, or magical work is finished, the blessing of
the Goddess and God is called into food and drink which are shared by all.
The circle is opened and the space is no longer consecrated.

To create the circle and the working of magic, we use tools to facilitate a
magical mood in which the psychic state necessary for this kind of work can be
achieved. The tools are part of a complete and self consistant symbolic
system which is agreed upon by the participants and provides them with a 'map'
for entry into unfamiliar psychic spaces. Such a system, like a map, is
arbitrary and not 'true' in an absolute sense; it is a guide to a state which
is ineffable and can be most clearly reached through poetry and 'starlight'
vision.

A primary tool, which is owned by most Witches, is an athame or ritual knife.
The athame is charged with the energy of the owner and is used as a pointer to
define space (such as casting a sacred circle) and as a conductor of the
owner's will and energy.

Other important tools are the symbols on the altar which denote the elements:
earth, air, fire, and water (some 'maps' include spirit). A pentacle (a
pentagram traced upon a disk, like a small dish) is often used to symbolize
earth and its properties -- stability, material wealth and practical affairs.
Alternatively, a small dish of salt or soil can be used to symbolize the earth
element. A ritual sword is usually used to symbolize air and its properties -
- communication, wisdom, and understanding. Alternatively, a thurible of
incense or a bell may be used to symbolize the air element. A candle or wand
is used to symbolize the element of fire and its properties -- will,
transmutation, and power. A chalice of water is used to symbolize the element
of water and its properties -- cleansing, regeneration, and emotion. In
traditions which include the symbol of spirit, an ankh, quartz crystal, or
some other object is used to symbolize spirit and its properties --
perfection, balance, illumination and eternity.

There are many other minor tools which are used for some specific purpose
within magical workings, but the tools described above cover the basic tools
used in the practice of the religion of Wicca.

Since these tools are merely the conductors of personal energies, as copper is
a conductor for electrical energy, most covens provide some degree of training
in psychic development to strengthen each memeber's ability to participate in
the religious activities. Each individual decides what level of such training
is useful for them. We see psychic abilities as a natural human potential.
We are dedicated to developing this and all of our positive human potentials.
The energies raised by these practices and other religious activities are
directed toward healing ourselves and the Earth, and toward diverse magical
workings.

When you think of hypnosis, what comes to mind? Probably stage shows where people are made to do silly or mystifying things. Possibly also the controversial subject of "lost memory retrieval," or dramas where unsuspecting victims are made to commit crimes without their knowledge. In any case, it's not something you think of in the context of ordinary life.
So this may come as a shock-each one of us is basically in a state of self-hypnosis all the time. We are constantly entrancing ourselves with a steady stream of hypnotic suggestions in the form of beliefs about ourselves, our lives, the future, and everything we consider to be "real."
Rarely do we stop to consider the sources of these beliefs, so we accept the negative ones along with the positive. Then we suffer the consequences with a shrug and ask, "What can I do? That's just how things are."
As a psychotherapist, Dr. Marta Hiatt sees this principle at work every day in the people who seek her help. Each of them wants to improve his or her life in some way, but it is the rare individual who starts out realizing this fact-they are the source of and only remedy for their unhappiness.
This is not a fuzzy philosophy or wishful thinking. It's a demonstrable fact that your life is built on a foundation of imagination, for better or worse. So if you want to change your life, you will be fighting a losing battle if you start by changing the outer conditions like your location, partner, or job while ignoring the underlying beliefs that create your dissatisfaction.
Every day, you hypnotize yourself unconsciously. To create the life you want to have, you need to start doing it consciously. You need to reprogram your system so life delivers the results you would really like, rather than what you think you have to settle for.
This is the purpose of Mind Magic-it gives you a clear set of instructions for using self-hypnosis and visualization so you can prove to yourself that your life really can be whatever you imagine. Free from hype and mumbo-jumbo, it also clearly explains the reasons why these techniques work, as below:
1. Imagination is more powerful than will power.
In any battle between the will and the imagination, the imagination always wins. If you imagine something under hypnosis, even though your reason is telling you it isn't so, you will produce the effect.
Using this principle, you should employ your imagination, not your reason, if you want to achieve something. For instance, if you want to lose a few pounds and are offered a delicious dish of ice cream, you should immediately imagine how attractive and happy you will be when you reach your weight goal, rather than trying to use will power to argue against accepting the dessert. If, instead, you begin to imagine how good the ice cream will taste, and then attempt to use your will power to resist the temptation, you will be defeated.
2. Imagination is more powerful than reason.
This principle has led many normal, rational people to blindly follow a despot or dictator because their imagination overpowered their reason. This is why the con artist is successful: He manipulates people's imagination. And it is also why we sometimes fall in love with someone our reason tells us is totally wrong for us, but something about them has captured our imagination (our fantasy), and we are overcome by it.
3. Only one idea can be entertained by the mind at any one given time.
If a hypnotist tells you that your hands are stuck tightly together, you must either affirm to yourself that they are, or think: "No, they are not." Conflicting ideas cannot be held at one and the same time thus, to be successful in hypnosis, you must not resist the suggestion given.
4. Any imagined condition will become real if persisted in, provided only that it is logical.
The subconscious mind cannot tell the difference between an idea that is strongly imagined and something actually happening in the outer world. That is why hypnosis and imaging work. After the hypnotic suggestion has incubated, it will begin to manifest itself in your life, provided only that the suggestion is logical.
The point is not that you can make your own reality-the point is you do make your own reality. That power is already in your hands, and you use it every day. So if you don't like the life you have, what kind of life would you like?

1. Find a place where you will be comfortable and undisturbed - this means if you live with other people, you need to tell them not to bother you during your meditation for any reason. (unless there's an emergency, of course!) Unplug your telephone, as well. Keep your pets out of the room. My cats like to jump up on my lap when I'm sitting, and while I think that's sweet, it isn't very good for my concentration!2. Dim the lights in the room and light some candles. (don't make the place so dark that you will fall asleep!)3. If you are meditating in your home, play some drumming or other type of soothing, soft music. This helps you focus and it also serves the purpose of drowning out background noises such as neighbor's music (very distracting if you live in an apartment) or traffic outside.4. You may cast a circle if you wish to. Sometimes this will help improve your focus.5. Sit upright in a comfortable position, whether in a chair or cross-legged on the floor. I usually find that it's not very effective to meditate while reclining; too easy to fall asleep!6. Now, close your eyes and begin to relax every part of your body, starting with your feet and moving upwards to your calves, thighs, hips, stomach, hands, arms, shoulders, neck and finally your face. (be sure to remember to relax your face! A lot of people forget this; make sure your lips, cheeks, jaw and eyebrows are all relaxed) Focus on each part of your body separately at first, feeling the tension draining away. You should start feeling a tingling sensation throughout your body as you do this, but don't worry if you do not at first. It takes your body time to learn to relax; most of us spend our whole lives in a state of tension except for when we're asleep. While you are doing this, breathe deeply; inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. With each breath, feel yourself relax more. Remember to keep breathing deeply throughout the meditation.7. When you are fully relaxed, begin visualizing a place that is comfortable and serene to you; a beach, a forest clearing, the bank of a river, a cave - whatever feels right to you. Make this visualization as detailed as possible. You should see it in detail first - notice whether it's daytime or nighttime, see the leaves on the trees or the sand on the beach, notice how the water is moving or whether it is still. See the walls of the cave and notice whether they are rock or clay or another type of substance. "Look" all around you, in front, behind, to the sides. See everything that you can see about your safe place.Once you have the picture in your mind, you can begin to incorporate your other senses. Feel the air on your body - is it warm or cool? Is there a breeze? Feel the sun on your face if it is daytime. Feel the sand or earth or leaves or water beneath your feet. Dig your toes into it and experience how it feels. Smell the air - does it smell salty or fresh? What other smells do you experience in this place? Hear everything around you - the rushing water, the wind blowing in the treetops, the rustle of animals. 8. Stay in this safe place for as long as you wish. Don't worry if your mind starts to wander at first; this takes practice. If you find your concentration waning and your mind wandering, let it wander without trying to force it back to your meditation. It will eventually get tired of that train of thought and you can gently bring yourself back into focus. You may see animals or people while you are meditating. Notice how they react to you. Talk to them if you can or if you feel like it. Don't worry if they don't respond at first. Sometimes spirit guides like to check you out for a while before they talk to you. If you don't see anyone, that's fine, too. Maybe you just need to be alone in this place. 9. When you are ready to return, begin noticing things around you in this plane: feel the chair or ground beneath you, listen to the sounds around you, become aware of your heartbeat and your breathing. Become aware of your body again (because once you become skilled at this, your body may go numb during your meditation). When you can feel and hear things around you, slowly open your eyes and sit there quietly for a few minutes. Release the circle if you cast one. 10. When you are finished meditating, get something to drink and eat - it doesn't have to be a full meal, but definitely drink some milk or tea or something and eat a bite of cheese or bread. This will help anchor you in this plane and ground you so that you don't end up feeling drained or jittery.I would recommend that you start out by meditating for only about ten minutes or so. Don't try to force yourself into an hour-long meditation when you've just begun learning the process. You will only get frustrated. When your mind becomes accustomed to relaxing and focusing for a period of time, you can increase your meditation time. When you become skilled at this basic meditation, you can use it as a base for meditations to meet your spirit guide, astral traveling or any other type of other-world journey you wish to try.
Techniques for astral projection
Note: After having studied many methods of Astral Projection, I have
found that this is the easiest to do. Monroe teaches these techniques
in a week, but they can be easily done in a day, with proper
devotion. I feel that this technique is superior to others because it
doe not require intense visualization, which many people cannot do.
enjoy!
(Taken from Leaving The Body: A Complete Guide to Astral Projection,
D. Scott Rogo, prentice Hall Press)
One of the chief barriers people learning to project face is fear.
Many are afraid that they may die, or be harmed in some way as a
result of their projection. Nothing could be farther from the truth.
The Cantebury Institute, reknowned for its occult studies, executed an
experiment in projection involving over 2,000 people. None of them
were hurt in any way by this, and now, three years later, none have
complained of any newly arising problems.
Once you are aware that you cannot be harmed by projecting, you should
begin monroe's techniques, step by step.
Step one:
Relax the body. According to Monroe, "the ability to relax is the
first prerequisite, perhaps even the first step itself" to having an
OBE. (out of body experience) This includes bothe physical and mental
relaxation. Monroe does not suggest a method of attaining this
relaxation, although Progressive Muscle relaxation, coupled with deep
breathing exercises (inhale 1, exhale 2, inhale 3.... until 50 or
100) are known to work well.
Step two:
Enter the state bordering sleep. This is known as the hypnagogic
state. Once again, Monroe doesn't recommend any method of doing
this. One way is to hold your forearm up, while keeping your upper
arm on the bed, or ground. As you start to fall asleep, your arm will
fall, and you will awaken again. With practice, you can learn to
control the Hypnagogic state without using your arm. Another method
is to concentrate on an object. When other images start to enter your
thoughts, you have entered the Hypnagogic state. Passively watch
these images. This will also help you maintain this state of
near-sleep. Monroe calls this Condition A.
Step three:
Deepen this state. Begin to clear your mind. observe your field of
vision through your closed eyes. Do nothing more for a while. Simply
look through your closed eyelids at the blackness in front of you.
After a while, you may notice light patterns. These are simply neural
discharges. They have no specific effect. Ignore them. When they
cease, one has entered what Monroe calls Condition B. From here, one
must enter an even deeper state of relaxation which Monroe calls
Condition C-- a state of such relaxation that you lose all awareness
of the body and sensory stimulation. You are almost in a void in
which your only source of stimulation will be your own thoughts. The
ideal state for leaving your body is Condition D. This is Condition C
when it is voluntarily induced from a rested and refreshed condition
and is not the effect of normal fatigue. To achieve Condition D,
Monroe suggests that you practice entering it in the morning or after
a short nap.
Step Four:
Enter a state of Vibration. This is the most important part of the
technique, and also the most vague. Many projectors have noted these
vibrations at the onset of projection. They can be experienced as a
mild tingling, or as is electricity is being shot through the body.
Their cause is a mystery. It may actually be the astral body trying
to leave the physical one. For entering into the vibrational state,
he offers the following directions:
1. Remove all jewelry or other items that might be touching your
skin.
2. Darken the room so that no light can be seen through your
eyelids, but do not shut out all light.
3. Lie down with your body along a north-south axis, with your
head pointed toward magnetic north.
4. Loosen all clothing, but keep covered so that you are slightly
warmer than might normally be comfortable.
5. Be sure you are in a location where, and at a time when, there
will be absolutely no noise to disturb you.
6. Enter a state of relaxation
7. Give yourself the mental suggestion that you will remember all
that occurs during the upcoming session that will be
beneficial to your well-being. Repeat this five times.
8. Proceed to breath through your helf-open mouth.
9. As you breath, concentrate on the void in front of you.
10. Select a point a foot away from your forehead, then change
your point of mental reference to six feet.
11. Turn the point 90 degrees upward by drawing an imaginary line
parallel to your body axis up and above your head. Focus
there and reach out for the vibrations at that point and
bring them back into your body.
Even if you don't know what these vibrations are, you will know when
you have achieved contact with them.
Step five:
Learn to control the vibrational state. Practice controlling them by
mentally pushing them into your head, down to your toes, making them
surge throughout your entire body, and producing vibrational waves
from head to foot. To produce this wave effect, concentrate of the
vibrations and mentally push a wave out of your head and guide it down
your body. Practice this until you can induce these waves on
command. Once you have control of the vibrational state, you are
ready to leave the body.
Step six:
Begin with a partial seperation. The key here is thought control.
Keep your mind firmly focused on the idea of leaving the body. Do not
let it wander. Stray thought might cause you to lose control of the
state. Now, having entered the vibrational state, begin exploring the
OBE by releasing a hand or a foot of the "second body". Monroe
suggests that you extend a limb until it comes in contact with a
familiar object, such as a wall near your bed. Then push it through
the object. Return the limb by placing it back into coincidence with
the physical one, decrease the vibrational rate, and then terminate
the experiment. Lie quietly until you have fully returned to normal.
This exercise will prepare you for full seperation.
Step seven:
Disassociate yourself from the body. Monroe suggests two methods for
this. One method is to lift out of the body. To do this, think about
getting lighter and lighter after entering this vibrational state.
Think about how nice it would be to float upward. Keep this thought
in mind at all costs and let no extraneous thoughts interrupt it. An
OBE will occur naturally at this point. Another method is the
"Rotation method" or "roll-out" technique. When you have achieved the
vibrational state, try to roll over as if you were turning over in
bed. /do not attempt to roll over physically. Try to twist your body
from the top and virtually roll over into your second body right out
of your physical self. At this point, you will be out of the body but
next to it. Think of floating upward, and you should find yourself
floating above the body. Monroe suggets you begin with the lift-out
method, but argues that both are equally efficacious.
If, after all this, you still can't project, I recommend purchasing
Leaving The Body, by R. Scott Rogo. It only costs $7.95 and contains
another eight or so techniques. Not all techniques work for everyone,
but chances are you'll find one that works for you in this book. Good
luck!
Astral Travel simplicity itself
The step by step instructions that I was taught, simillar to those in
the LLEWELYN Practical Guide to Astral Travel, worked better for me -
it took me alot of practise to get to where I could do it and it seems
that for most people it takes practise, although some can do it
spontaneously. In fact it happens to some the first few times with no
warning and then, after worrying they have gone crazy for a while,
they later learn what it is. But I did just want to say for those like
me for whom it does NOT come easy, not to get discouraged but to try
working with it one step at a time.
Two interesting points about astral travel for me. One is that I find
it more interesting to explore the astral planes than to explore
specific locations on this plane. However when you are first
learning, exploring specific locations on this plane can help. Laurie
Cabot suggests picking a store near you that you have never been in,
try projecting to it, immediately on arising write down your
impressions of it and then, as soon as you can, visit the store and
check out your impressions. If they are not all correct, don't be
discouraged The example she gives is DID YOU SEE RED BEHIND THE CASH
REGISTER AND IT'S NOT THERE? Perhaps the cashier that day or evening
was wearing a Red sweater! The longer you wait to visit the
establishment, the more likely it is they will move something or
change a display, so go soon after your visit.
The second is that I used to do it as a kid, no problem - right up
until my Dad told me it was all in my head and I had imagined it.
Then I couldn't do it anymore.
A note here - My DAD, who used to be a hard-core skeptic, started
attending a Spiritualist Church I hung-out at when he married my
step-mother. I find it humorous that originally he went there because
it was non-denominational so you don't have to believe everything the
ministers teach and because he liked the ministers, but he didn't buy
the Psychic stuff. Well, lately he's changing his mind as he's had
some startling experiences. I'm good, I'm nice, I don't tell him he
is imagining things. But I can't help laughing about it to myself
just a little bit.
Oh, some of the stuff the Llewelyn book suggests is to practise
opening your chakras first and grounding the energy, work on that for
1 week to 1 month. WHEN YOU HAVE IT DOWN PAT (be honest with yourself
here or you can forget it) work on projecting a cloud of your energy
out through your solar plexus (some people work better projecting from
the 3d eye, I personally project the body through the solar plexus and
when I project the consciousness into it, I do it via the 3d eye. BUT
since these are all merely visual aids to doing something non-
physical, I am not sure that it matters IF YOU ARE ACHIEVING VALID
RESULTS) and leaving this energy as a cloud only then reabsorbing it.
YOU DO NOT PROJECT YOUR AWARENESS INTO IT. You absolutely MUST
reabsorb it. That is done for a week or a month or however long it
takes. It is done by creative visualization until you get it to the
point where you can feel that it is something more.
Then you do the same thing for a week or a month, ONLY YOU SHAPE THE
CLOUD INTO A SIMULCRAM OF YOUR BODY (if you are also trying to heal
yourself, use the ideal form you wish to achieve - make it realistic
and so it looks like you) WITHOUT projecting consciousness to it, you
send it out to watch a situation you can later check on for yourself.
When it comes back at a prearranged time later on, meditate for a
while and write down your impressions AND DO NOT THROW ANY OF THEM OUT
AS THEY SEEM SILLY OR IMPOSSIBLE - truth is often stranger than
fiction. Check on these later, DISCREETLY - don't TELL people you
sent an astral traveler to them, say I HEARD THAT you went such and
such a place today while I was in school so you can say to your mom
that someone saw her and told you or something, OR just say it's a
hunch, or, if you have the impression that your mom called your
grandmother while you were in school, just say I WONDER HOW GRANDMA IS
DOING? and see if your mother doesn't say, THAT'S WEIRD SHE CALLED ME
TODAY.
PEOPLE GET PARANOID IF THEY THINK THAT YOU CAN WATCH THEM - AND THEY
ALSO THINK YOU ARE THE CRAZY ONE IF YOU SAY YOU CAN DO THIS.
Interestingly enough science (psychology) tells us that one of the
classic symptoms of Paranoia is to think the OTHER person is crazy.
Always be sure to bring the simulcram back at the pre-arranged time
and REABSORB IT!
The next step is to project consciousness into it, go out with it, and
reabsorb the energy/substance afterwards - but only try this once you
have the watcher exercise down pat.
THESE EXERCiSES SHOULD BE DONE FROM A MEDITATIVE STATE.
ALWAYS SHEILD YOURSELF BEFORE TRAVELING<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/2025873499308712210-4876193359637062036?l=stephen-grosso.blogspot.com' alt='' /></div>

here is some lunar magick

Lunar Magick
The Moon is the most important heavenly body to witches. We draw on her power for lunar magic. We cast our spells in accord with her cycles. She inspires and illuminates us. There are moon gods, but the Moon has always been perceived as female. The Moon is cyclical, like women. We menstruate with her. She mirrors the stages of our lives: Maiden and Mother and Crone. She is Changing Woman, as are we.
As the Wheel of the Moon continues on its never ending course, the moon also travels through the different astrological signs, just as the sun does, only more rapidly. When the moon resides within the various signs, that sign influences the magickal aspect of the moon.
= EARTH =
spells should be preformed when the moon is in one of the astrological signs governed by that element: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn.
= AIR =
spells should be performed when the moon is in one of the astrological signs governed by that element: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius.
= FIRE =
spells should be performed when the moon is in one of the astrological signs governed by that element: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius.
= WATER =
spells should be performed when the moon is in one of the astrological signs governed by that element: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
= Moon Phase Correspondences for Magickal Workings =
= New Moon Magick =
New Moon workings can be done from the day of the new moon to three-and-a-half days after. The new moon is for starting new ventures, new beginnings. Also love and romance, health or job hunting.
= Waxing Moon Magick =
From seven to fourteen days after the new moon. The waxing moon is for constructive magick, such as love, wealth, success, courage, friendship, luck or health.
= Full Moon Magick =
From fourteen to seventeen-and-a-half days after the new moon. Prime time for rituals for prophecy, protection, divination. Any working that needs extra power, such as help finding a new job or healing for serious conditions, can be done now. Also, love, knowledge, legal undertakings, money and dreams.
= Waning Moon Magick =
From three-and-a-half to ten-and-a-half days after the full moon. The waning moon is used for banishing magick, for ridding oneself of addictions, illness or negativity.
= Dark Moon Magick =
From ten-and-a-half to fourteen days after the full moon. The dark moon is a time for ridding oneself of bad habits, Binding spells, for exploring our darkest recesses and understanding our angers and passions. Also bringing justice to bear.
When the Moon is void-of-course, it means the energy is somewhat in limbo, making no aspects before leaving the sign it occupies. It can indicate aimless endeavour or lack of purpose, and agreements and purchases made may need to be rethought once the Moon enters the next sign. Best to wait until then to move forward on anything that requires decisive action;
immersing yourself in soul exploration and meditation are positive uses of your energy during this period. Regroup yourself mentally and spiritually to prepare for the Moon entering the next sign.
